3M™ 470 Series Tan 7.1 mil Electroplating Tape measuring 1" X 36 yd features rubber adhesive for instant adhesion. Electroplating tape with vinyl backing is ideal for automotive, aerospace, military, transportation, marine, general industrial, MRO and facilities management applications. Tape offers resistance against abrasion and moisture. It has a maximum operating temperature of 76 deg C. Non-corrosive tape is easy to apply, conformable, flexible, visible and versatile. Tape is suitable for wrapping, patching, masking, protecting, bundling, sealing, safety coding, hazard marking, identifying, color-coding and paint masking. It offers good resistance to many chemicals used in typical electroplating processes.

Excellent resistance to most chemicals used in typical electroplating operations
Prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures (above 250 deg F/121 deg C) and hot caustics may cause weakening of the adhesive bond
Resists most common solvents, care should be taken to avoid ketones, chlorinated hydrocarbons, and esters, found in lacquer thinners, degreasers, paint strippers, etc., which may cause the backing to swell or curl
Backing accepts marker ink and is printable in using the thermal transfer process
