Item Details

  • Vancar®-O is a tubular open arc wire which results in a deposit containing vanadium and tungsten carbide. Vancar can be used in hot wear applications up to 9000F (4800C). Deposits are not machinable and cannot be flame cut.

Features

  • The wear resistance of vanadium carbide is greater than that of chromium carbide but less than that of tungsten carbide.
  • An advantage of vanadium carbide particles is that they dissolve during the welding operation and then reform in the deposit, providing an even distribution.
