- RADNOR™ E309L-16 is an over-alloyed electrode intended for welding stainless steel unalloyed or low-alloy steels. The electrode has a composition that, under normal welding conditions, ensures a crack resistant weld metal. RADNOR™ E309L-16 can also be used for welding some high temperature steels. Always consult with an expert before welding.
Features
- Superior to 308L. When surfacing mild steel a corrosion resistance equivalent to that of ASTM 304 is obtained in the first weld layer.
Caution
- Electrodes should be kept as dry as possible when they are being used. Electrodes slightly affected by moisture may be rebaked for approximately 3 hours at 475° F – 525° F. Heating and cooling should be carried out slowly. Electrodes may be rebaked up to 3 times with no danger of damaging the coating.
