- Lincoln Electric® UltraCore® 71A85 Gas Shielded Flux Core Carbon Steel Tubular Welding Wire of 0.045" Dia delivers superior arc characteristics for gas-shielded flux-cored welding. Wire is ideal for welding in all positions and is welded with 75 - 85% argon/balance CO2 shielding gas. It produces fast freezing slag for easy out-of-position welding and delivers great arc stability. Wire can weld over mild steels. Wire designed for use with high argon mixed gas also features premium arc performance and bead appearance shielding gas. Areas of application include shipbuilding, seismic structural fabrication and general fabrication. It is normally associated with E71T-1M H8, E71T-9M H8 class of wires. It is packaged in a ProTech™ foil bag to provide protection from moisture contamination for consistent quality. Wire comes in a plastic spool of 33 lb. It meets AWS D1.8 seismic lot waiver requirements.
